Five people were injured on the flight from Taipei to Kuala Lumpur
In the video, the terrified cabin crew can be seen thrown to the floor with food trays scattered around them.
According to the Daily Mail, one flight attendant is heard shouting “is he dead?” as her colleague lays sprawled across the floor.
Another member of the cabin crew screams as her colleague tells her: “Don’t move”.
One stewardess who was seated tells the others: “Guys, alright, don’t be panicked okay. It’s going to be alright.”
Channel NewsAsia reports that flight D7 377 landed safely following the extreme turbulence but five passengers were injured.
In a statement, AirAsia said: “Five injured passengers were treated by paramedics at the airport upon landing.
“All other passengers were attended to by ground staff and provided with necessary assistance.”
It comes after 27 passengers were injured in severe turbulence on an Aeroflot flight from Moscow to Bangkok when their plane hit an air pocket.
It’s thought that 24 of the injured were Russian and three were from Thailand. Fifteen people were taken to a Bangkok hospital for treatment on a range of injuries that varied in severity.
